Hello world!
Books hold a special place in my life. As a child. I immersed myself in stories from Peter and Jane series (Goodreads), Disney classics, and Japanese folklores. But my true love for books blossomed during my school years with Chinese classics such as Romance of the Three Kingdom, various WuXia novels, and Harry Potter capturing my imagination.
As I grew older, my taste in books evolved from fiction to non-fiction as I sought to understand the world a little better. Now, books are my go-to for navigating complexities of life.
Along the way, I realized that life is too short to read all the books in the world, So I became more selective in what I read, I started researching books recommended by various sources, learning about the background of the authors to determine what books would help me to understand a topic better. This space – NextRead.net – is where I want to share the fruits of these research: curated lists of thought-provoking literature.
Creating high-quality, curated list can be daunting. I’m not expert in every field, and I sometimes worry that my lists won’t be as good as seasoned critics. But on the other hand, precisely because I’m not the expert, my list, I hope, may resonate well to readers who, like me, are simply seeking to understand a topic better. I hope that by putting effort into good research, reading widely and critically, I can produce high-quality, curated list for readers like you.
For those who want to join me on this literary journey, please subscribe, or simply stop by often! I’d love to have you along.
One day, I dream of opening my own bookstore where I can share my love for books in person. Until then, I’m starting here, with this blog, to spread that passion. Again, thanks for visiting and please stop by again.
